At Normisjon Bangladesh, we believe that lasting change begins when people, communities, churches, organizations, and individuals come together with a shared commitment to serve those who are most vulnerable and marginalized. For more than a century, our work in Bangladesh has focused on creating opportunities for people who often face barriers to education, employment, leadership, security, and social development. Today, we continue this mission through education, vocational training, leadership development, safe accommodation, community empowerment, and healthy childhood development. Our ask is simple: stand with us, work with us, and help create opportunities that can transform lives and strengthen communities for generations to come.Our work is rooted in the belief that every person deserves dignity, opportunity, and the chance to build a better future. We particularly work alongside indigenous communities, marginalized families, children, young people, and women who may have limited access to the opportunities that many others take for granted. Through our programs in different parts of Bangladesh, we seek to respond to practical needs while also helping individuals and communities develop the knowledge, skills, confidence, and leadership necessary to become more self-reliant. We do not believe that sustainable development is achieved simply by providing short-term assistance. It is achieved by walking alongside communities, listening to their needs, strengthening local capacity, and creating pathways toward a more secure and hopeful future.

Education is one of the most powerful tools for breaking cycles of poverty and marginalization. Yet for many children and young people in marginalized communities, continuing education can be difficult because of poverty, geographical isolation, inadequate facilities, family circumstances, or limited access to supportive environments.Our Human Resource Development Program works with indigenous communities in Sylhet and focuses on education, skills development, leadership, and community empowerment. Educational support includes preparatory education, student hostels, and higher-education stipends, while leadership initiatives encourage young people and women to participate more actively in their communities.Your support can help a child remain in school, enable a young person to continue higher education, or provide a student with the environment and resources necessary to pursue a professional future. Supporting education is not only an investment in an individual student; it can also have a wider impact on families and communities as educated young people return with new knowledge, confidence, and leadership capacity.

Many families in marginalized communities depend on uncertain sources of income and have limited access to vocational training or employment opportunities.Through the Development and Leadership Program in North Bengal, Normisjon Bangladesh supports Santal Adivasi communities through vocational training, livelihood development, youth leadership, cultural awareness, and land-security initiatives. The program operates in districts including Dinajpur, Gaibandha, and Naogaon.We ask you to help us expand access to skills that can generate income and strengthen economic resilience. A contribution toward vocational training can help a young person acquire a marketable skill. Support for livelihood initiatives can help families develop more sustainable sources of income. Technical assistance can help us improve training quality and connect participants with appropriate opportunities.The goal is not simply to provide temporary assistance. It is to help individuals and families develop the capacity to support themselves and contribute positively to their communities.
